About me

ABOUT ME

I am a translator and interpreter from English to Spanish with over 30 years of experience.

My areas of specialisation include law, finance, patents, engineering, IT, marketing, tourism and journalism.

Since 1991, I have worked as a certified sworn translator of legal documents of all types, including contracts, claims, certificates, divorce proceedings, patents, court orders and company documentation.

The ever-changing demands of the translation market in the last three decades have led me to expand my areas of expertise throughout the years to other fields such as journalism, TV, engineering, software localisation and IT. From 1997 to 2000, I worked full-time as translator and reviser in the European Union CORDIS project (a research and development information service published daily on the Internet and fortnightly as a journal).

As a lecturer, I taught at the Escuela de Traductores e Intérpretes (Estudio Sampere) in Madrid during the 1990s and was responsible for the English-Spanish language pair of the Legal Translation MA at London City University between 2008-2013. I also taught DPSI (Law) and Diploma in Translation from 2009 to 2017 and collaborated with the Institute of Linguists as an official marker of the DipTrans exam.
